Recent Jury Verdict - $240 million against Cloudera
I am honored to have played a part in StreamScale’s recent $240 million trial win against Cloudera. Working with great lawyers from Winstead and from Irell & Manella was a true pleasure and a great example of team work. Everybody worked really hard, and the result shows.
On the team were (from Winstead) Jamie McDole, Phillip Philbin, Michael Karson, David Higher, Grant Tucker, Matthew Vitale, Nikki Becraft, Amanda Johnson, Pam Jones, and (from Irell & Manella) Jason Sheasby, Lisa Glasser, Rebecca Carson and Stephen Payne.
The case is StreamScale, Inc. v. Cloudera, Inc., Case No. 6:21-cv-198-ADA (Judge Alan Albright), in the Western District of Texas, Waco Division.
Developing effective strategies requires looking several moves ahead. When you know the jurisdiction and the Court, you can better predict outcomes and develop better strategies.
After attending dozens of Judge Albright's Markman and discovery hearings, I have developed effective strategies that I can share with clients.
I have attended significant portions of most of Judge Albright's patent trials (jury selection, opening statements, many witnesses, and closing arguments), and have had three trials before Judge Albright. I can provide your team with helpful insights.
Trials and hearings are largely about persuasion and effectively communicating ideas. Knowing your audience is key. Sometimes an outside perspective helps. I can help your team develop effective communication strategies for hearings and trials.
